The Invalides are a Parisian monument the construction of which was ordered by Louis XIV by the royal edict of February 24th 16701, to shelter the disabled persons of his armies. Today, he always welcomes disabled persons, but also cathedral Saint-Louis of the Disabled persons, several museums and the military necropolis with in particular Napoleon Ier's grave. This immense architectural complex, designed by Liberal Bruand and Jules Hardouin-Mansart, is one of the most important masterpieces of the French classic architecture.
